The Dual Challenge of Skills Development
Are you concerned about high youth unemployment and the need for modern teaching skills? Uganda faces a dual challenge: with 78% of the population being youth, unemployment stands at 32.2% (and 36% for graduates), while teachers require constant upskilling to deliver relevant education. Riverflow International Uganda addresses both ends of the spectrum through integrated programs.
Empower the Youth: Transform idleness into opportunity by equipping young people with practical, market-relevant skills for employment or entrepreneurship.
Equip the Educators: Ensure teachers stay current with innovative pedagogy and competency-based assessment to effectively prepare students.
Bridge the Gap: Connect skill training directly to economic opportunities and support teachers with continuous professional development.
Foster Sustainability: Create a cycle where skilled youth contribute to the economy and well-trained teachers uplift future generations.
Our Solution: Youth Skilling & Teacher Development
We operate two interconnected pillars: one focused on creating a capable workforce and the other on empowering the educators who shape them.
For Youth (Ages 14+): Our program moves beyond theory to hands-on training in real production departments, tackling the root causes of idleness and underemployment.
For Teachers: Our CPD program, developed with NCDC and UNEB specialists, ensures educators master modern, practical, and learner-centered teaching methodologies.
Build Youth Employability
We combat Uganda's 32.2% youth unemployment with practical, market-relevant training in fields like ICT and carpentry, transforming potential into a capable workforce.
Foster Entrepreneurship
We equip youth to become job creators by instilling the mindset and practical knowledge needed to successfully launch and manage their own businesses.
Keeping Your Team Productive
We keep educators at the forefront with professional development on the latest pedagogy and curriculum, developed in partnership with stakeholders like NCDC and UNEB specialists.
Our Team is Ready to Help
We provide lasting support via our Teacher Support Platform, creating a national community where educators access guidance and bridge the gap between schools.
Teacher Support & Continuous Professional Development
To ensure educational excellence, we provide robust, ongoing support for educators at all levels. Our program ensures teachers are confident in modern pedagogy, curriculum implementation, and student assessment.
10,000+ Primary and Secondary teachers trained in modern pedagogy and competency-based teaching.
15,000+ teachers engaged on our Teacher Support Platform (TSP) for ongoing assistance.
The Teacher Support Platform (TSP):
This is our dedicated centre where teachers connect with subject specialists and peers. Educators can call, text, or go online for immediate help with curriculum content, teaching methodology, and UNEB-standard evaluation.
The TSP is vital for bridging the experience gap, allowing teachers from rural and urban schools to share challenges and solutions, creating a national community of practice.
Through the TSP, educators access:
A direct Teacher Helpline.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) resources and workshops.
A library of academic resources and lesson materials.
