ABOUT US

River Flow International (RIFI) is an education-based organisation that works with teachers, senior educationists, and innovators to improve the quality of education in Africa and promote the use of scientific knowledge, best teaching practices, research, and innovation in solving socio-economic challenges.

RIFI supports teachers and innovators to develop unique learning materials that promote skill development and life-long learning and runs a comprehensive retooling and teacher-support program for all-inclusive quality education.

River Flow International partners with Education Ministries of different countries and different non-governmental organisations including Fields of Life, World Vision, Save the Children, Cotton-On Foundation, and Finn Church Aid to promote quality education in Africa.

PROJECTS

Studies have highlighted persistence failures and low uptake in science subjects. To bridge this gap, RIFI has resorted to projects like Promoting a Practical Approach to Science (PPAS) , Capacity Building (CB), Literacy for Lifelong Learning (3Ls) and a Teacher Support Center (TSC)

Teachers Support Center(TSC)

RIFI has a support center on which science teachers connect and freely interact with subject specialists. Teachers can go online, call or text for assistance in understanding teaching content, selecting effective teaching methodology, and how to carry out testing and evaluation at UNEB

Teachers Capacity Building

RIFI through the PPAS project produces science instructional materials. For these materials to be efficiently and effectively used, RIFI-STI trains science teachers on how best they can use them to conduct practical and learner-centered lessons.

Literacy for Lifelong Learning(3Ls)

Science Readers are unique storybooks based on the primary science curriculum from P.1-P.7. They are prepared to help and encourage pupils to develop the skill and love for reading. As they master the basics of literacy, they acquire knowledge on how to handle day-to-day challenges.

Self-help Science Projects

To further demonstrate the importance of science, RIFI has formed a partnership with schools to set up science projects. These projects enable learners to apply classroom knowledge and acquire skills that will help them in their daily life at home, school, and after they finish or leave

Promoting a Practical Approach to Science(PPAS)

This project aims at promoting practical teaching of science subjects. RIFI develops reading, teaching, and learning materials designed by experienced teachers and consultants in the form of Teacher’s Guides and Pupil’s Books as per the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC)
